Ingredients

2 cups of fresh strawberries trimmed
1 lime zest and juice
2 to 3 tablespoons of sugar or sweetener of choice (optional)
1 to 2 cups of ice or more to taste

Instructions

Place the strawberries, zest, and juice of ½ lime in a high-power blender. Blend until smooth. Taste the sweetness and add the sugar if the strawberries are not sweet enough.
Add 1 cup of ice and pulse 5 times. Add the second cup of ice and pulse until a creamy slushie has formed. Add more ice if needed.
Taste and adjust the sugar levels one more time if needed. Pulse 3 times to mix.
Serve by scooping the slushie into a glass or bowl.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness: Taste the mixture as you go, adding any extra sweetness (as berries can be quite tart) and lime to preference.

To adjust the consistency: If it’s too thin, add more ice. If it is too thick, blend more or add a touch of extra liquid.
